About Us

What services does Project Grow provide?

In addition to providing community garden space to hundreds of gardeners, Project Grow also conducts gardening education classes and gardening-related programs for adults, senior citizens, children, school classes and adult groups. These classes are all taught with a focus on organic gardening methods.

In addition, Project Grow created and maintains the Discovery Garden at the Leslie Science Center where, along with gardening plots, theme gardens are open to the public. Project Grow also offers the wheelchair accessible Barrier Free Garden.

Project Grow is proud of the fact that land we garden on is improved on the properties we use for all of our gardening programs through soil improvement, landscaping, plantings and careful management.

Project Grow gardeners donate many hundreds of pounds of fresh produce each summer from the Community Gardens and Discovery Garden to Food Gatherers and other local programs for the nee.

Encourages volunteerism by maintaining an ongoing volunteer program and welcomes volunteer groups from organizations such as churches, scouts, fraternities & sororities, employee groups, etc.

Project Grow also maintains the Compost Education Center at the Leslie Science Center. Using the Compost Education Center we are able to teach gardeners and the general public through signage and classes about the benefits of composting.
