Project Grow offers many volunteer opportunities through our various community gardens located around the area, the Discovery Garden, the Heirloom Garden and through various events and activities.

Our volunteers vary from local groups and businesses seeking a once-a-year community service experience to individuals seeking a long-term volunteer experience dedicated to one of our many ongoing projects.

As a non profit organization with a very small staff, Project Grow has an ongoing need for volunteers. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Education
Work with or be part of Project Grows education committee or teach a class.

  • Events
Assist in the planning and organizing of money-making events for Project Grow.

  • Food Bank Coordinator
Organize gleaning of surplus garden produce for contribution to Food Gatherers or other organizations, who will distribute produce to those in need.

  • Fundraising & Grant Writing
Assist Project Grows staff and Board in planning and undertaking strategies to ensure Project Grows financial stability.

  • Newsletter
Contribute articles, assist with layout, help find sponsors and advertisers.

  • Office Skills
Support Project Grow staff by aiding with data entry, mailings, etc.

  • The Discovery Garden
Help with this educational garden located at the Leslie Science Center. Possible ways to help include theme garden care, assisting seniors, children, or wheelchair bound gardeners with their gardens.

  • The Heirloom Garden
Help to plant, maintain and harvest heirloom variety vegetables on this farm-like organic garden located on Platt Road.
