Food Bank Coordinator

 Project Grow is looking for a motivated volunteer interested in coordinating and documenting our food donations across the organization. Each garden operates individually, and makes donations to different local food shelters and distribution centers. We are interested in ensuring that each garden has the ability to donate food successfully, as well as to better understand how much food we donate as a whole and where it goes. Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet many gardeners and become more familiar with the network of shelters and food providers in our area.


Commitment: 1 hour per week, minimum

Experience: Not required.

Start date: May 15, 2012 End Date Nov 31, 2012

Volunteer Coordinator

Are you interested in learning about organic vegetable gardening? Are you hoping to meet master gardeners or gain experience in volunteer coordination? If you answer yes to any of the above, Project Grow needs your help! We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to commit to at least two hours per week. Experience is not required.. only enthusiasm.

Commitment: 5 hours per week

Experience: Experience is desired, but not necessary

Start date: ASAP

Discovery Garden Volunteer

Project Grow participates in several community events during the course of the spring and summer. We also run our own events and are planning a large celebration in August for our 40th anniversary party. We are looking for a volunteer to help ensure that we maximise our potential for marketing, volunteer recruitment, and exposure through these events. For events that we run ourselves, this individual would be asked to coordinate the logistics including but not limited to food distribution, volunteer coordination,

Commitment: 2 hours per week, minimum

Experience: Gardening experience is preferred, but not required.

Start date: May 1, 2012

Marketing Assistant

Project Grow is currently seeking a volunteer with marketing experience. Our most pressing goal is to update all outreach and informational material as well as design and purchase new Project Grow labeled items (included but not limited to buttons, t-shirts, stickers, t-shirts, and tote-bags)
 

Time commitment: 5 hours per week (flexible)

Desired Experience: 1-2 years of experience with marketing and/or communications

Start date: ASAP

Event and Outreach Coordinator

Rain Barrel Builder

Project Grow has begun building and selling rain barrels to support The Discovery Garden Project at The Leslie Science Center. We are receiving regular orders for kits as well as prebuilt barrels. We have the supply line and the process for building and selling them-- we just need a volunteer willing to take the lead and help us build the barrels and distribute them. This offers a great opportunity to meet people and network as well as learn everything there is to know about building rain barrels!

Commitment: about 1 hour per week

Experience: No experience necessary

Start date: ASAP
